WARREN LEAGUE 2012

The Warren League was formed to enable players with higher handicaps (10 – 27 inc.) to compete in a friendly league comprising two Divisions of 9 Surrey Clubs. Each Club plays 8 Saturday/Sunday matches, 4 x Home, 4 x Away.  Fixtures below:

1st April v Banstead Downs (H) 8.45 a.m.

7th April v RAC  (H) 8.45 a.m.

21st April v Wimbledon Park  (A)  TBC

28th April v Effingham (H) 8.45 a.m.

19th May v Shirley Park  (A) 8.30 a.m.

2nd June v Reigate Heath (H) 8.45 a.m.

9th June v Kingswood (A) 8.45 a.m.

4th August v Redhill & Reigate (A) TBA

All are played from the Yellow Tees and to enable you to (a) help the wife with the shopping (b) get off to the match (c) clean your car etc we normally start with a coffee and end with sandwiches and chips or similar. Matches are played in a friendly and informal manner. Club sweaters and shirts are required BUT there is no need to change after you have come in and any speeches are kept very short.

This is a great opportunity to represent your Club, maybe enjoy another course, and compete for a very minimal cost. Everyone who puts their name down is guaranteed at least one game and anyone who plays in a Home match will have priority for an Away game. Match fee – just £11.

Your personal result counts towards the ‘Club Player of the Year’ Cup and as an added incentive the best two performers willl be offered the opportunity to represent the Club at the end of season competition with a meal provided at the Kingswood Club in mid-October – no charge!

All players who enter to take part or who have played in the past are eligible to enter the Warren League Roll Up in February 2012 where substantial cash prizes are on offer.

Please enter your name with your current handicap by the 28th February. Teams will be go up on the Board shortly afterwards.
