Coombe Wood offers a wide range of memberships covering all golfing standards. The Academy (see elsewhere) takes you through the early stages of your golfing life and equips you for a move up to full membership, usually within one year.
Within the Club there are 5-day and 7-day Full Memberships. The 5-day is designed for players who may, possibly through retirement, prefer to play during weekdays. The sub covers full social membership so 5-day members can enjoy the use of the Clubhouse and facilities every day of the year. They have their own Monthly Medals on one Wednesday per month.
The 7-day ‘Full’ member has the opportunity to play in the regular ‘roll ups’, a great way to meet other members, plus a wide range of competitions and the Monthly Medal held either on one Saturday or Sunday every month. Once holding a recognised handicap the 7-day member is qualified to be picked for Club Matches and to play in the League teams for the Club.
We are conscious that players aged 25-40 are often hard pressed for time and possibly finance so we offer significant discounts – see ‘Membership Fees’.
The Club has a very active Seniors section with over 100 members. Styled the Fellowship Of Retired Gentlemen Golfers ‘FROGGS’ they play as a group on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, have many competitions and play a large number of matches. They also organise a number of social events.
For new members we hold regular new members’ evenings, have special competitions and do our very best to ensure that your early experiences are positive. Not for nothing are we known as ‘the friendliest Club in Surrey.’
