Small, well guarded greens require good execution of iron shots to find your target. Skilled players will be asked to properly flight and shape their second shots if they expect to score well. The greens at Coombe Wood, virtually all year round, are in wonderful condition. The subtle, gentle slopes of the greens provide a fair test of nerve and skill. Coombe Wood provides a great experience for all levels of ability from high handicapper to experienced professional.

The nature of the ground the course is constructed on provides excellent natural drainage allowing the course to be open and playable all year round. Regular maintenance programmes by our first rate ground staff ensures that the course is presented in beautiful condition in both winter and summer; course closures and temporary greens are a rarity at Coombe Wood.
